Implant Overview
A 20 minute consultation to review current implant techniques, treatment times and approximate costs. This overview is not patient specific but designed to give an introduction to what can be achieved with dental implants. It is hoped that interested patients will then seek a full consultation, if this is the case the overview fee is deducted from the consultation fee.

Implant Consultation
An implant consultation over two forty minute visits. The key to implant success is the quality and quantity of bone at the proposed implant site. The implant site is determined by the desired final prosthesis. To accurately assess suitability for the placement of dental implants the following procedures must be undertaken.

- Assessment of the remaining dentition by clinical examination and dental radiographs.
- Assessment of the periodontal status.
- Soft tissue, skeletal and jaw joint considerations.
- Articulated study cast.
- Diagnostic wax-up.
- Radiographic stent.
- Calibrated radiographs.
- The assessment is carried out over two visits to allow for the production of a diagnostic wax-up and radiographic stent. The cost is £300.00 - for the first proposed site then £50.00 for additional sites.

Implant Surgery
Parkside Implant Service exclusively uses Straumann SLActive implants. The surgical fee includes the closure screw, suture removal and post operative reviews necessary prior to prosthetic reconstruction. Additional fees will apply for soft tissue management or bone grafting. Soft tissue management may include procedures such as soft tissue grafts and tissue conditioning to achieve a natural appearance when junction between gum and implant is easily visible.

Bone grafts are now commonly used in conjunction with dental implants. The complexity of the grafting procedures ranges from localized on-lays at the time of implant placement to block grafting and sinus augmentation prior to implant placement. Bone grafts will always need additional soft tissue management.

Abutments
Abutments are the second stage of an implant and are used to support crowns, bridges or dentures. Again there is a wide range of abutments that can be used and they range in cost from £200.00 for a solid abutment for a cemented crown to many hundreds of pounds for custom made abutments or complex bars used to support some types of dentures.
